Volunteer Opportunities

The Chula Vista Learning Community Charter School believes that if each family actively engages in their child’s educational experience throughout the year, together, as a community, we can provide unique experiences for all our students. Parent commitment has been essential to the success of our student academic program. Family members can support and participate in parent trainings, community events and/ or festivals of their choice. Activities where parents can volunteer and/or participate in include, but are not limited to:
• Traffic
• Parent Symposium
• Curriculum Nights
• Town Hall Meetings
• Parent Conferences
• Board Meetings
• Festivals
• Parent training sessions
• Committee meetings
• Work at a school site
• Work with a faculty member
• Attend school events
• Help organize school festivals
• Work at maintaining a clean environment at a school site
• Attend a school field trip

Family members who participate must adhere to the following:
• Complete the volunteer process (see Parent Volunteer Presentation below)
• Sign-in and out every time you volunteer at the school
• Wear a volunteer badge while on campus
• Follow the school’s site emergency procedures in the event of an emergency drill
• Maintain confidentiality of student information
• Support the teacher by following appropriate procedures for student safety

Should you be injured while you are volunteering at any school site, you are covered by the District’s Workers’ Compensation Program. It is extremely important that you report all injuries to the office immediately. If you have any questions regarding volunteering in school, please contact the school office.
